After the class
Today was the final day of 'English seminar' class. Through this lesson, I learned about race, diversity, minority groups, and so on. Althogh the theme was difficult for me to study, I think that it is good for us to study these things, because the world is becoming more and more international and we have to know about other countries. Especially, presentations were very useful. Each group did a good presentation, so I could learn a lot of things every time. Overall, I could enjoy this class!

These days, an international marrige becames common more and more even in Japan. Daily Yomiuri newspaper sometimes introduces people who marriged foreigners. And I enjoy reading the articles. Those people are often having difficult time because of differences such as costums, food, religion and so on. In some cases, their parents and friends didn't celebrate the wedding. However, I think that an international marrige is fine if they love each other.

A dance show
Last year, I went to see a dance show with my family. At the show time, dancers in gorgeous costumes played many kinds of dances such as tango, belly dance, and so on. I was impressed because I saw directly those dances for the first time. Especially, I liked the cossack dance. I thought that there are so many kinds of dances in the world, and each of them has its own goodness and beauty.

In Japan, most people eat 'ozoni' in the New Year days. 'ozoni' is one of the Japanese traditional foods. It is miso soup with rice cakes and some root crops. This year, my grandmother, living in Niigata Prefecture, sent us many rice cakes. The shape of them was circle, while in Kanto area, the shape of rice cakes is usually rectangle. I've heared that the shape of rice cakes is different region by region. I think it's a kind of diversity!?

I am 20 years old this year. So, I' ll attend a ceremony of "Coming of Age Day". In Japan, most of 20 year-old people wear Kimono or Hakama for the day. It is difficult and tiring to wear Kimono, I like it very much. I always become tense and feel refreshed when I wear Kimono. I think that Kimono is one of the beautiful Japanese cultures.

In a TV program, Danmark was introduced. Watching the program, I was very impressed with the beauty of Denmark. A row of houses was like a beautiful scene in fairy tales. In the program, a reporter enjoyed eating Danish foods and walking around the town. By this program, Denmark became a country I want to visit. Someday, I want to go there and enjoy myself!

I studied about communication tools for a presentation of communication class. Now, there are various tools for communication. For example, telephones, mails, fax, letters, and so on. Thanks to development of those tools, we can easily contact people in different countries. Actually, I keep in touch with a friend in America by mail. It is very exciting to talk with people in other countries. I think that development of communication tools has been advancing the internationalization.
